Network and social gatherings

Coming to and living in a foreign country as an au pair can sometimes be challenging and at times lonely. Caritas Denmark is therefore working on establishing network amongst au pairs and with other groups, as a way to find support and new social network.

Au pair Food Club – Vietnamese food

Saturday 1st of November 2025
Once every other month, we have a food club for au pairs, where we will have our members introduce meals from their countries that we will cook together and enjoy after.
The country theme of this food club will be VIETNAM, and we will have the pleasure to be introduced to fresh springrolls with different fillings as well as a couple of other delicious vietnamese dishes. It will be Linh, who will take us to her home country and teach us how to make this delicious meal.
As usual, we will meet at the Caritas Center at Stenosgade 4A at 4pm and cook together, getting to learn some delicious authentic food from a country of one of us.
Afterwards we will sit down for the shared meal, share stories, chat. It is a great way to meet other au pairs from Copenhagen.
The event is free and everything will be provided for by Caritas, so just come as you are!
And if you haven’t joined before, this will be an amazing opportunity to meet new au pairs while doing something fun.

NB. Please make sure that your sign up response (if you have marked ‘joining’) is correct on the Thursday prior to the event. We buy food according to how many have signed up, so please make sure your response is up-to-date.

Christmas coziness

6th of December 2025

Christmas is getting closer and it’s a great time to get together and cozy up. Au pairs are here without family and some not too much network, so we need to be each others friends and network.

We will put on some hot chocolate, nice sweets and we will make some nice Christmas decorations together while talking and enjoying each others good company.

When: 6th of November at 4pm
Where: Caritas, Stenosgade 4A, 1616 København V

The event is free and everything will be provided for by Caritas, so just come as you are!
And if you haven’t joined before, this will be an amazing opportunity to meet new au pairs while doing something fun.

Join other au pairs online on Caritas’ Facebook group for au pairs: Au pairs in Denmark – sharing experiences and creating network 

The intention of the group is to have a forum where we can share experiences, tips and tricks, events, knowledge etc. and create a space from where we can find and build friendships and relationships with other au pairs locally and virtually.
